we were so close

Today we got up fairly early as we were flying out to Las Vegas at 2.00 pm and we needed to visit the boeing factory and do the guided tour.  Managed to book in for the 11.00 am tour which lasted for 90 minutes.  The tour was awesome, you get to see up close and personal of boeing 787's Dreamliners and 747's being made.  The factory is massive and the planes almost look like models being worked on.  Once the tour finished we looked around the museum of flight for a little while.  The museum has a viewing platform on the top where you can see across to the factory.  As we were on the roof the Dreamlifter started up and began to taxi down the runway ready to take off.  The Dreamlifter travels the world and picks up ready made parts for the 787's as they are carbon fibre of sorts and basically ready made.  The pieces are essentially bolted together at the factory.  Even some parts are made in Australia.  The Dreamlifter is a fattened out 747 and was incredible to see take off.  The runway was so short that there was no more runway in the photo above and it had only just lifted from the ground.  If something went wrong I don't know how he would abort.  It was then time to get the car and drive to the airport for our flight.
Arrived in Vegas with no troubles and headed for the Luxor to check in.  Once organised we walked down the strip and got some dinner.  Vegas certainly does not change.  Busy as hell and hot hot hot!!!!  But it is fantastic.
We now have 3 full days to relax before we fly out to Los Angeles to head home. )-:
