seattle and on to la

Monday 5th August 2019
Today sees us leaving Seattle in the afternoon so we have a couple of hours in the morning to see some last minute sights. Once breakie was had we checked out,  got in the car and drove to the northern side of downtown Seattle to Kerry Park.  This park gives the famous skyline view of Seattle that you normally see on TV etc.  A few minutes look there and then headed to Oxbow Park nearer the airport that has cowboy boots and cowboy hat that are really large.  From there we headed to the rental returns to drop off the car.  Here we said goodbye to Debby as she was flying Southwest and we were gong Delta so we had different buses to catch to the airport.
Once checked in and bags dropped off we head to the lounge for some sneaky cocktails and food.  It was quite nice in the lounge for about 2 hours of relaxing.
Boarded our flight and two and a half hours later we are back in LA.  Got the bus to the rental yard and picked up or car.  Few dramas there as well as they didn't have our car ready and after a few arguments and disagreements they won and we drove out with our Chevy Camaro and not our Dodge Challenger.
Bit of Denny's  for dinner and then checked in to the motel.  Tomorrow we head for Fresno as we make our way to Yosemite.

boeing, cruising, chewing gum and chihuly glass

Sunday 4th August 2019
Today sees us go to Everett to the Boeing factory tour.  It is about an hour drive to Paine Field and the Future of Flight.  The tour goes for 90 minutes and we had booked the 11.30am one.  The tour is amazing and it is just incredible to see 747, 787 and 767's on a production line being built.  The tour is totally worth it.
We then drove back to Seattle and parked in Downtown right near pier 55.  We had booked and hour cruise of the Seattle Harbour.  Lined up and boarded the boat.  It was a beautiful day and sitting on the top of the boat it was actually quite hot.
Once the cruise was over we walked to Post Alley to see the chewing gum alley.  Bronte added his little piece of chewy to the wall for our little addition.  We then walked to Pike Place Market and down to Starbucks very first coffee shop.  We also bought a bunch of flowers in the market.
We walked back to the car and then drove to the Space Needle and parked again.  We went to Chihuly Garden and Glass which is amazing.  After the garden we had a quick ride on the monorail and then a walked around the outside of the Museum of Pop Culture and back to the car.  We drove to Applebees for dinner before heading back to the motel for our last night in Seattle.  Tomorrow we fly back to LA to start our road trip.
