downtown and boat cruise

Thursday 25th July 2013
Today we were going to spend the day looking around downtown Seattle and do a boat cruise from Lake Union to the main wharf at Seattle.  The cruise was about 2.5 hours long and would take us from Lake Union through a lock back to the main pier.  We started with a ride on the monorail and then walked to the old part of town where we went up to the top of the Smith Tower which is one of the tallest and oldest buildings in Seattle.  It was the tallest building along with the space needle at the time of the world fair in 1962.  Some of the old part of town was really pretty and the streets and parks are so well looked after.  We got out to our boat ride and enjoyed a spectacular 2.5 hours.  It was really well worth the money and was nice and relaxing with great views of the city and Mt Rainier.  Tomorrow we leave Seattle and fly to Milwaukee.
