air and space museum, discovery shuttle

Wednesday 7th August 2013

Today we left our hotel at Greenbelt and went to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum at Chantilly Virginia.  There is a Concorde, space shuttle and a black bird on display as well as a heap of other planes.  The museum was brilliant.  We have now seen two space shuttles with 'Discovery' being the most famous completing 39 trips to outer space.  Spent a few hours there before we hit the road again to travel to Pittsburgh.  It was about a five hour trip and we arrived quite late to our hotel.  Went out and got some Denny's for dinner and then called it a night.  A couple of things to look at in Pittsburgh and then we are off to Columbus Ohio.
