After a fairly routine flight in premium economy we landed into LA at about 8.30 am. Once through customs we got on the bus to Hertz and picked up the Dodge Challenger RT and set off. We headed to the Le Brea tar pits and had a walk around. The pits are straight across the road from the Petersen car museum. The tar pits are cool, they just ooze out tar from the ground mixed with a bit of methane to give it a pleasant smell. We were going to see the space shuttle but decided to head to Palm Springs straight away as we were feeling kind of tired and it is about a 3 hour drive. Staying at the Days Inn this time which seems quite nice for the price. Pretty much unwound and then went to Dennys for dinner. Early night tonight to catch up on some sleep. Also the weather here is 42 degrees today and meant to be 44 on Saturday. Should be nice here in the desert.
