one world trade centre and moma

Thursday 5th July 2018
This morning we walked back across to the 9/11 memorial and had a bit of a look around.  We wanted to find the survivor tree.  This tree was removed from the rubble after the collapse of the towers.  It was the only living tree, damaged but still alive.  Out of all the 400 swamp white oak trees this is a callery pear tree so it is noticeably different.  We then went and lined up and did the One World Trade Centre tower which was amazing.  100 stories above the ground with a fabulous view across all 5 boroughs of NY. Spent a while up there before coming back down and then catching a subway to the MOMA. The museum was pretty good and we spent a fair bit of time in there.  Came out and it was dinner time. Got some Applebees near time square before getting the subway back to the hotel.  Tomorrow arvo we leave NY and head to Seattle.
