Wednesday 7th August 2019
Nice trip on some secondary roads to the Yosemite entrance.  After and hour we got to a traffic jam and had to wait about 20 minutes in the line up of cars trying to enter the park.  Once through we took the road to Glacier Point which has and amazing view of the half dome. It was so congested trying to park in the lot there as well as it was so busy.  Once we took in the sites we were  back in the car to continue onto the lower valley of Yosemite.  This takes us through a tunnel to Tunnel View which gives the famous  Yosemite view of the valley.  We then continued on and did a walk to the Bridalveil Falls which was nice.  From there we stopped close to the river and walked a board walk to the water where I had a paddle in the river.  Then another short drive and a stop off for a walk to the lower Yosemite Falls which also gives you a view of the upper falls.  After that walk which was around an hour it was time to make tracks to Reno which was about  5 hours.  After an hour or so drive we were at Olmsted Point which gave a view back across the valley to the northern face of the Half Dome which was spectacular.  The rest of the drive to Reno was 4 seasons in a day.  We had rain,  sleet and wind which saw the temp go from about 31 to 13. Got to Reno quite late so we stopped for some Denny's before checking into Circus Circus for the night.
Tomorrow we head to Salt Lake City.
