Friday 11th June
Today we hit the road and headed to Edmonton. It was a bit of a late start due to the late night after going to Locolous. Jade cooked us some brunch before we packed our stuff to leave. After we had packed our gear and loaded the car we hit the road. We gave Alex a ride home first so he didn't have to bus it and I think Jade was feeling a bit worse for wear and was really not wanting to drive him. The trip to Edmonton was good, it was only 300 kms and was 110km/h the whole way. We made our way through the city and to the Ramada near the airport. This motel is probably from the 60's and it quite tacky. It has a fake water fall and rock garden area in the foyer which is really showing its age. The plants in the area are actually real and you would expect them to be plastic. We are going to take some photos before we leave so you can see how bad it is. Tomorrows weather forecast is 24 and sunny, so we are planning a day of sight seeing around the city. Edmonton is also the home to the West Edmonton Mall, which was the biggest shopping centre in the world until 2004. Look up West Edmonton Mall in Wikipedia and it will give you some idea of how crazy the place is.
