Thursday 10th June
Today we woke a little later than normal as we were sleeping in the basement at Jade's house which was pitch black and you could not tell what time it was. Once we had breakfast all three of us got in the car and drove into Downtown Calgary. We found a park to park the car and then walked to the Calgary Tower. Was only $14 to go to the top of the tower so we all did. The view from the top was fairly good considering it was grey and raining and only 6 degrees. We took some photos of the view and we also took the photos with the bears at the base before we went up.
From there we walked to the downtown mall area and found a nice pub where we ate some typical Canadian food for lunch. It was a nice lunch and it was nice and warm inside. From there we went and walked the mall and checked out some of the shops. We made our way east of the mall and got to Olympic Plaza which was a very nice park area with very beautiful tulips growing all through the park. They also had these pink gofer heads in the ground all over one wall area. The garden was very colourful and also had a water found fountain and pond/lake area. As the weather was still crap we made our way back to the car and then back home.
Once at home we bummed around a bit and surfed the net and caught up on emails etc. Tonight we were going out to a bar for some drinks with Jade and some of her work mates, Alex and Kia. Alex was also from Adelaide and she wanted us to meet him as he was feeling a bit home sick. We went to Locolous which was a pub/night club. The night was very good and they had a DJ and $12 jugs of canadian beer which made for a good night. I think we left around 2.00 am and after catching a taxi home and having a chat we finally went to bed at about 3.30 am. Looks like Friday morning is going to be a slow start as well. We are off to Edmonton tomorrow and it's only about 300 kms away, a nice short trip,
